The changes in my body have been accompanied by almost every kind of feeling: joy, anxiety, many varieties of pain and discomfort, wonder, alarm, confusion, and excitement, to name a few. I have been hyper-attentive to it, for the most part, which makes it seethe with meaning. It always seems to be telling me something, but, of course, it has its own language, it moves and changes on its own terms, and I am a clumsy interpreter. I have been very happy to have Will by my side most every day of this adventure to watch, listen, and care for me. The pregnancy part is coming to a close. Burrito is expected to emerge in less than two weeks... of course, when s/he arrives may be only the beginning of her or his defiance. (Pictures taken at 22, 27, and 38 weeks.)
